Game Process:An absurdly strict border checkpoint where you enter as an unwanted alien. You stand on a custom load cell together with everything you carry. A LED panel announces a series of increasingly ridiculous “prohibited items,” each defined only by weight. You are instructed to discard possessions accordingly. The demands become progressively irrational, until compliance is the only way forward. In this work, we simulate the experience of passing through a border checkpoint, where individuals are confronted with a series of absurd and non-negotiable inspection demands. As we cross a border, what is allowed to enter? And what objects—closely tied to our everyday habits, commemorations, and personal experiences—are denied entry into a new country? In this process, the inspection mechanism does not attempt to understand the meanings carried by these objects. Emotions, memories, and personal histories are flattened into weight, incorporated into a judgment system based on calculable equivalence. The border enforced by immigration authorities functions as a filter, continuously stripping away our past identities, self-understandings, and lived memories. Within a new country, individuals can continue to exist only in permitted forms—reshaped within the constraints of its rules.
